   Wheat...Post-USDA report weakness continued across futures markets
coming out of the long weekend, and weighed on west coast cash wheat
bids. Week to week losses were most apparent for hard red winter bids 
and as a result, premiums to dark northern spring narrowed almost 30
cents over the past week.
   Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed wheat movement off U.S.
ports was right in-line with the prior week at 11.2 million bushels to
put year-to-date loadings at 256 million, which is 35% below a year ago.
White wheat was the top mover with 4.5 million bushels, hard red spring
registered 3.7 million and hard red winter shipped 1.2 million. Export
activity on the west coast showed 7.2 million bushels of wheat shipped
to Sri Lanka, Japan and South Korea, along with 18 million bushels of
corn for Japan and South Korea.
   Crop Progress...Pacific Northwest winter wheat plantings made solid
progress over the past week, with emergence boosted by scattered rains
and cooler weather. Washington is reported at 70% sown, Idaho at 37% 
and Oregon at 36%; all ahead of the 5-year average pace.
