   Wheat...A retreat across the futures complex on Tuesday weighed on
west coast wheat prices, but seasonal harvest pressure has also become 
more apparent, as exporter bid structures now reflect modest carries for
deferred delivery. Record winter wheat yields across many regions of the 
Pacific Northwest are adding to logistical challenges.
   Crop Progress...Pacific Northwest harvest advanced under hot and dry
conditions over the past week, slightly ahead of average. Idaho reports
31% harvested, with Oregon at 73% and Washington at 46%. Initial crop
quality reports show a higher yielding, lower protein crop with lower
than average falling numbers. Spring wheat harvest is also underway as
Idaho shows 6% cut and Washington is 21% complete.
   Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a slower pace of wheat
loadings off U.S. ports last week, coming in at 12.3 million bushels to
put year-to-date shipments 27% behind a year ago at 107 million bushels.
Hard red spring moved 4.9 million bushels, white wheat was 4.2 million
and hard red winter 2.4 million. West coast exporters moved 9.4 million
bushels of wheat, mostly to South Korea and Thailand, along with nearly
26 million bushels of corn.
